Advice on freelander 2 2007 headlamps.

Hi does anyone know if I could fit the projector halogen headlamps to a freelander 2 2007 xs.
If yes do I need to modify any wiring or just plug and play as I can obtain some off a friend as both my lights are damaged due to broken fixing tabs.

Did you know you can buy just the fixing tabs rather than whole unit? 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

Did you also know that you can plastic weld the broken tabs.
.
You need to find a hidden part of stiffener at the back of the headlight and saw off a sliver to use as a welding rod. I use a soldering iron which has a small 'rod shaped end'
.
You hold the broken part and 'dive in the soldering iron tip'; progress say 1/2 millimetre and dive in again pushing the molten plastic up to the first 'melt'. Progress the full length and it looks like a gas weld on steel. use the filler sliver as required to feed into the 'weld' use the tip of the iron afterwards to smooth over the repair. Ive been doing this type of repair for more than ten years............
.
Hope this helps; kind regards from Fred
.
PS yes you can fit 2011 MY projector lamps straight in; best fitted with Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited bulbs 2010GS Auto ex Celeb, Santorini Black, 2011 facelift , spoiler, spats, mudflaps, LED footwell lamps, Witter detach,
Other cars:-

I fixed my passenger headlamp before but its started to brake again, the rear cover is also cracked on the rear of the lamp.
I was temped to replace both lamps due to the driver side one having a glazed crack effect on the clear lens.

Ummm..... Golly......Gosh
.
Does this suggest that we are all heading towards Kna....red headlights as they age harden and decompose?
.
I think you are correct in looking for projectors of 2011 / 2012 vintage.
.
Kind regards from Fred.
