Taking delivery of my FL2 tomorrow, but have spent a brain aching amount of time trying to decide what alloys to fit.
It's either between black 20s or 19s and I'm looking to shoehorn some big LTZs on them.
I'm just concerned that on a FL2 20's may look a bit too big and bling (just as 22s on a D3 look way too big).
I was being swayed by 20s, but in reality I want to go for a purposeful 'tonka toy' off road look so I'm now thinking on 19s!
But then having said that, Lukeis has a set of black 20s on his, and that looks really cool and certainly not bling.
Oh, I'll save around £300 if I went down the 19s option, but I don't want to choose a set of wheels just based on that.
So what does the wisdom of the forum reckon? FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

It might be worth looking at ride comfort and tyre price between the two sizes also.

I'm not sure on 20's unless you can squeeze in my rubber to lessen the elastic band look, not sure if it's the Evoque profile tyres but the gap above looks not quite right on 20's Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It's a case of watch this space then...as Nick said, the sidewall is pretty weedy looking at 20", I have 19's on mine and the wheels, while looking good, are let down a little by the tyres which are far too skinny and tame for a 4x4.

Are you running the FL2 std 235/55/19?
If so, there's a 255/55/19 LTZ, which is a more AT styled tyre, great compromise for both on and off road.
The 255 gives you more width and therefore a taller sidewall.
BUT, it depends on whether you're running with FL2 or Evoque wheels.
As FL2 has an offset of eta55 whereas an Evoque has an eta45, so that 10 mm MAY cause fouling! FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

I looked at those LTZ, very nice but was concerned about the 255 width. They are Freelander 19" rims.
The cars under warranty too. So with that in mind I'm stuck with the correct tyres really.

20's don't look right imo, as the tyres are too thin in profile for the large gap between tyre and bodywork on a FL2. 19's are the max for me (as on our car).

If I get the tyre I'm after in 20, it'll only be a 6mm shorter sidewall than the FL2 19s
Don't think 6mm will be that noticeable..... that's just a treads depth.
Also a 20" black wheel (I know from experience) visually doesn't look as big as a silver 20" wheel. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

20's are no harder than 19's with regards to comfort. That I can say as fact.

As for the gap between the arch and the tyre, there is only a few mm difference, so it is all an optical illusion. The gap is all but identical to running 19's.

Well I went for 20s in the end.
They are style 9 (black stormers) from the Evoque.
Must say that coming from 17's I don't really notice any ride harshness.

Also the 20s look fine for size in relation to the FL2 and because it's an Evogue wheel/tyre it's got a decent sidewall.
Very pleased with them.
