Service plans - North East Scotland

Hi guys, seen that over 100 people have viewed this post but no replies.

Can anyone help please?

Just spoken to Frank Ogg in Elgin and Peter Vardy in Aberdeen to ask about service plans for my 61 SD4 HSE that's done 23,000 miles that I brought back in May.

Oggs came back with a price of £1066 for the 3rd, 4th and 5th service whilst Vardy quoted £934.

I have 2 questions.

1. Do these prices seem about right and is there likely to be any reduction if I play them off against each other?

2. Has anyone had any dealings with either Oggs or Vardy, and if so whats your views?

Thanks

I pay about £290-£310 for an A service and £310-340 for a B service.

What I normally do is ring an Independent, get a price and then ask my LR garage to match. Sometimes they do, other times they are £20-£30 more. I then let them have the work.

Your pay in advance servicing cost are expensive. I'd avoid getting into a long term contract and do a deal on the day like I do.

I wouldn't touch peters personally! Town & County had a bad name with free servicing and had been caught out by not even changing the oil Shocked now that peters have the dealership the staff have all changed and they haven't got a clue Rolling with laughter

I just popped in when having a nosey before I placed an order for my car and the salesman tried to tell me the new dynamic, I was looking at had xenons .... He even turned the lights on and said yeah they're xenon's when they were clearly halogens .... Then he told me that it had the premium stereo Rolling Eyes I just walked away Rolling with laughter

Oggs are very clued up! We've dealt with them for many years! From your forum name I don't understand why you are wanting to travel away to a bigger city Whistle

Hope this helps you out Thumbs Up MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Legoman, which indie have you used?

Cheers
