I was looking at buying a HSE with the body styling kit or the HST but when I found out that the HST is based upon an SE decided I couldnt do without the HSE benefits (front and rear armrests, 14 speaker Premium ICE plus afew other odds and sods) Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

the HST i saw in the dealers yesterday have full SE spec plus leather seats with armrests and the shadow chrome alloys which i presumed were standard form the litriture on the window

Yup it would have been nice to have based it on the HSE, but as far as I can tell, you only lose the Dolby part of the stereo and a few speakers, and the memory function of the seat. But you do gain the leather seats, and privacy glass over the SE spec, along with the body styling kit.
