Australia 2009 Freelander 2 i6 SE Auto Santorini Black

Hi agardim, Yes indeed, I just use the Garmin's in built speaker, no problems with clarity or volume. I did think of mounting a speaker in the central dashboard position and taking the feed from the Garmin but it was not necessary. Surprisingly, even the Bluetooth phone connection works reasonably well which I didn't expect due to the microphone being covered by the dashboard.

As stated above, MY13 onwards does not have a cubby hole. There is a simple screen on non-satnav models. Whether it's possible to replace this I don't know, as I'm not sure what its function is (mine's got a satnav). Incidentally the MY13 onwards satnav no longer has discs - the info is stored inside the unit and can only be updated by a dealer software upgrade.

I have a MY 2013 facelift model without the cubby hole.

I was thinking of mounting a satnav on a flexible mount that is attached to the glove box or centre console area.

Does anyone done this or have any suggestions?

Thanks

For MY 2013 onward, if you're looking for something professional and looking like the original system, you should try to ask to Audicom:

http://www.audicom.it/prodotti.asp?marca=32
[select the correct language at the top of the page]

They have a navigation + TV system with a number of audio video input/output capable to manage a rear cam, DVD, rear seats entertainment system etc... and everything through the original screen (snapshot and video from Evoque but compatible with Freelander my 2013 with 7" screen as well):

Also something for MY 2007:

Found the system navi+tv at around 950 euro installed for my 2013 in Italy; thinking about it...

I dont have the Satnav but quick question please. Is the speaker grill above it used for the satnav speaker if installed and if not, does it do nothing? It doesnt seem to form part of the Alpine stereo so I assume it for this?

Thanks

The centre speaker is used for the Dolby surround sound system I believe - I would guess the factory sat nav sound uses the normal radio speakers.
