Mixing engine coolant brands?

Hi! Our Freelander 2 decided to let us know that the coolant level had dropped below the minimal level a couple of days ago so I today decided to pop to our local LR dealer to pickup some nice LR branded long life coolant. I've just noticed that the coolant in the car is a nice vibrant red but the coolant in the bottle looks to be green in colour. We've owned the car for the past two and a half years so don't know it's full history however I do have a print out of the history from the dealer whom supplied the car.

My Q is... Should I mix coolants or just add water to what is in the car??

Many thanks,

If you have bought the green stuff from Landrover parts department it is the same coolant, I queried that also with them when I got home, I opened the bottle and like you noticed the green coloured liquid, phoned them up and asked them, they laughed said yep we get this all the time, it is the same poor it in and it will go pinky orange, so I did and it has Thumbs Up
