Of course. But if those have been identified and fixed with an update which was available BEFORE yoi bought the car (so likely used) then in my view it should have been updated before purchased, or if updated when fault appears, no charge made.

I was once driving a big Citroen down the motorway on the hottest day of the year and it started doing strange things like backfiring as you slowed down. I called the dealer and he said that Citroen UK had loads of calls that day with the same issue and that they had issued a software fix. Evidently some guy in France hadn't thought that it could get that hot in the UK and had different parameters from French ones!

Jings! Don't get me wrong, I know stuff happens that hadn't been anticipated. No one writes perfect code and thinks of every eventuality. Its the old stuff I think should be fixed as fixes are released.
