It can be included if you choose to extend your warranty with LR.

If you have AA or similar then is it not just doubling up on that? Just curious * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Yes. No point in having both. LR Assist sometimes use the AA anyway!
Extended warranty available with or without it. If you bought it from your dealer they probably included it. Paperwork should tell you. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

LR Assist, is the AA, it has been contracted out to them for a few years now, if they are busy and the LR Assist guy is otherwise engaged a standard AA will be allocated to you.

Thought so. It came free for 3 years with the new motor.
Won't renew that bit and will compare LR Warranty with other providers when the time comes........ * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

My LR dealer called out LR assist to look at a problem with the FL2 at home. He arrived in a well equipped Disco and tried to sort out the problem. In the process he updated the ECU firmware which I don't think the AA would have done. The guy told us that he worked for JLR but was paid by the AA and that if he was free he would be assigned to any AA job but if a LR problem came in whilst en route he would be diverted to it. However once on scene with an AA call he had to stay with it until sorted. Reading between the lines it looked as if a Landrover broke down somewhere and the standard AA guy couldn't sort it then he would eventually turn up anyway!
