Benefits Britain: Life on the dole

I'm sitting here watching that programme on Channel 5 for the first time. I feel like I want to put my fist through the telly on the remote off-chance it'll travel through the ether and smack one on those poncing Censored in the mouth. Banging Head Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

in last weeks programme a guy came to this country to make £40,000 in benefits in order to build a house back home.

he was claiming for his wife and kids who were still back home !! and was sending £800 a week to them !!

the benefits were so good that his 15 year old pregnant daughter and her boyfriend were heading over here to enjoy the handouts.

they also spoke very highly of the NHS, free medication, etc

As much as it sounds bad ( and it is ) remember....

1) If we where not easy going they would not come
2) If we where not work shy there would be more UK people employed
3) If decent wages where on the cards there would be more UK people employed
4) The befits fraud bill is a tiny percentage and talk around this issue is designed to deflect from the gazillions loaned to the banks, spent badly or lost.

So yes - its not great but lets not loose focus of where the real issues are.

T

PS I have worked since I was 11 one way or another and only been out of work for a couple of months out of that - why because I am ready, willing and able to no matter what it takes. I have done good jobs and bad jobs and I have never claimed which is great because now my other half wants to get back to work and retrain she is not entitled to because of me - we have to find the funds our self yet some one else can come along who is not bothered and gets it all paid for.... another example of where the UK get it wrong ! Terran

I would like to know how much Channel 5 paid them to appear on the show. I am sure they didn't do it from a sense of public spirit to show us all how hard life is on benefits. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

It would probably break my spirit if I knew how much pension I'd receive if I didn't have to pay for these so and so's Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
