Think your dealer may be a bit idle.

Dean64, if you read through the forum on this subject you'll find that there is a slight hesitation between 1st and 2nd gear on a manual, and is normal.

Thanks for replies. I'll bring it up again at first service time next month. The 'rattle' only seems to happen on hot days so would need to plan some listens weather dependent |

MY2010 - Manual - 85'000+kms - No Hesitation Between 1st & 2nd Gear Changes. Ever, in 5years of ownership from new. (Stiff gear change between first and second gear always experienced in winter in sub zero temperatures when vehicle started from cold. This is due to the viscosity of the gear box oil - normal)

the "hesitation" between 1st and 2nd depends on your style of driving.

Hi all. The hesitancy seems as though I just haven't given it enough fuel. I'll try again when I get back in the car. I'm wondering if it's my driving style when I start thinking about it. I've also changed fuel from supermarket for a bit, still concerned about the shutdown noises so will ask again at first service |

That's exactly how mine feels, like not enough fuels getting through. |

Not driven car for a couple of days so will check over coming days. Every time I have noticed this lack of power between 1st and 2nd I've been going uphill and doing a relatively quick change |

Mine never had any hesitation until I put 2 tank fulls of tesco's fuel one after another , also made very flat off the bottom even the wife noticed it and that says some think apart from them two I always filled up with shell , gears between 1-2 became stiff after 1500 miles . |

Mine is automatic and i can't experience any hesitation as it changes gears very fast. I have experienced some noises on shutdown but not on short distances. Only when the engine is really-really hot. From the first time i knew it was something normal. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE 2.2 (2007) Auto
