New SE Tech

Good evening Freel2.

New to the forums here. I had a quick question I was hoping someone on here might be able to answer for me.

I picked up a new SE Tech on Wednesday and its a cracking car. I love it.

The problem I have it finding insurance for it. At the moment the SE tech does not exist on the Association of British Insurers database so the insurance companies are encountering the Computer says no issue.

Does anyone know how long it takes for new car models to be put into the ABI's database?

Anyway here is a pic of the car.

I would have thought the insurance company would just talk to their underwriter Wink

The underwriters at the problem, its not in their database, so they are not interested.

The only company that will do it at the moment are Land Rover insurance, for a sizeable chunk of cheese.

Congratulations on new purchase! What colour did you order, how long did you had to wait since ordering? I'm hopefully ordering mine next week, white with amber interior. (That is if NFU sort out the vouchers for the new models)
This will be my first Land Rover, then again the first vehicle I "drove" was a Series 3, sitting on my fathers lap.

I had this recently with a new motorbike.
The insurance company had to speak to the people responsible for the national database and get it updated!

Pain in the arse trying to get quotes before the update.

I just used the dealers seven day free insurance until the database updated.

This is becoming so tedious.

I have just left a message with the ABI to try and find our when they are going to register this car on their database.
