United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Indus Silver
New FL2 on Monday

Hi all,
Picking up our new FL2 SE Tech SD4 Auto in Orkney Grey on Monday.
Any tips on what to check in the handover ?
Traded in our old Jag X type estate which served us well but looking forward to the new addition.
We did try to get a Metropolis but couldnt find one we could get quick enough so would like to explore the possibility of fitting a reversing camera. The car has a touch screen satnav dealer says they cant fit a reverse camera but looking at some posts on here seems some people have done it but not sure if its with the same touch screen satnav as fitted to mine
Bob

Orkney grey is a lovely colour !!

make sure firstly that your paperwork, keys, etc are as they should be.

look over the car bodywork/paintwork and make sure no blemishes/damage, etc
check it over in the same way inside and make sure it has everything you ordered.

best if possible arrive a bit early and find your car and give it a once over first on your own.

Iain

Make sure to get a bottle of leather feed!!!! Dynamics have a tendency not to come with them! Have you added any accessories if the car has been in the workshop drive her a tad forward and make sure no screws in the tyres MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Seriously, good tip about the tyres as I've found from previous experience.
If you’re having a towbar fitted check the rear bumper for marks /blemishes. Again from previous experience, I didn't check closely enough on mine. Evil or Very Mad The dealer didn't even bolt my bumper back on properly after the towbar was fitted. Evil or Very Mad Gone:

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue

My only strong recommendation, apart from the obvious, is to ensure that ALL Book Packs/Documents etc are with the car at the point of handover.

From previous experience, unscrupulous 'Salesmen' at certain dealers know damn well that these command a fortune on the black market (look on eBay for evidence) and sometimes 'forget' to include them in the Glovebox at handover. By which time you are so excited about driving it away, it's hard to prove afterwards. Foraging near Gaydon....

Collected today with no problems and driven back home 250 miles .
First impressions are good, only 34 mpg which is dissapointing for such a long drive but maybe that will improve one the engine loosens up.
