Supprt England - Not Selby Council

Just read a report (on facebook) about a man, who has received a letter from his local Selby Council to put his hedge back to normal in case it offends anyone because.......

His painted the St. Georges Cross on the hedge Banging Head Thud Banging Head

Last time i look this was still England, why would some complain over this or think its going to upset someone, especially during the world cup, were flags are flying in near every street or window.

I suppose Selby Council will be against the Tour De France been in Yorkshire too and not France, never mind who the Yellow Jersey might actually offend, and i won't even go there regarding tight lycra shorts offending anyone

Bloody England and the PC Councils going mad Censored

Now now Nick.... you must be tolerant of all others and their beliefs and religions....after all, everybody's equal (allegedly!) according to the Marxists's.

The indigenous inhabitants have no "rights" in our multi-culti utopia, don't you know? You have no right to anything anymore......by order of the EUSSR Banging Head

In further stupidity from Yorkshire Councils today: http://aq.be/6a24c8

Look where I live Laughing Laughing Laughing
If it's a council house then the council will have the right to ask for the removal under the terms of tenancy (I think)
If the house is in private ownership, then you can tell them to get stuffed, unless it is for example a danger to drivers who get distracted by it.
PC gone mad.
Probably someone from Spain complained about it Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I remember sometime ago I think it was Calderdale council, who made residents remove graffiti from walls and fences. If the home owner didn't they would receive a fine. How many pieces of council property do you see with graffiti on them? Sounds similar in this case. To me the council should be concentrating on more important matters. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

There is something to be said for getting local residents involved in (eg) cleaning graffiti, picking up litter etc... it avoids that syndrome of "it's not my fault / problem, it's someone else's" and encourages greater respect for the shared environment. If people attended to graffiti & litter themselves, they'd feel greater responsibility towards ensuring the place stayed in better shape, more than if they just "outsourced" the activity to the council then bleated about it not being done quickly enough. ...

Be true to yourself. That way happiness lies...
