Osram LEDriving fogs fitted!

So first can i say thanks to Steve for www.advancedfactors.co.uk for a super quick and easy service and not to for get they are £40 cheaper than ebay.
Pretty easy to fit after i worked out what wires go where and they even work on auto mode.
The holes on the mounting bracket are in the perfect place but it was a bit of a squeeze getting them in.
The power and earth wires are about 18 inch to short so i had to extend them, I put the control box on the left hand side of the right headlamp, and the light wire and indicator wires i had to work out what cable to splice them with.
But in end result in my opinion is its well worth the time and money.
It toke me 3 hours to fit mainly because of the working out of the light cables, so i think if someone else was fitting it now with my info it should take you about an hour and half.

Be interested in some night time pictures if possible!! Had you got fogs before hand and just upgraded bulbs or was this a fresh install?

Reason I ask is I've got no fog lights, so this would be a nice possibly cheaper way of doing it but would need to switch them somehow and also dependent on what loom I have behind.

Looks great. I have been toying with getting some of these. Are they still £190 delivered from AF?

I can't make up my mind whether the whole DRL thing is a bit naff or a great idea...

Excellent work.

I assume if I didn't want the "turning lights" (or whatever they're called), I just don't bother connecting a wire or two?

Then the lights won't come on when indicating at night - which is what I would prefer.....

few night pics, but the lights are way to bright, plus i have Osram night breaker plus headlight bulbs.

DRL Only

Headlamp on so DRL's go out

Indicator on so that 1 DRL comes on

Headlight + Fog

I all ready had factory fitted fogs so it just a case of swap and plug in.

The turning lights had me thinking do i or don't i, but sod it give it a go.
Pretty cool thou. Unlock the car the DRL's + indicators flash, turing at night the DRL comes on, Broken down with the hazards on and the DRL's flash at the time.

Sounds good.

But if I didn't want the turning lights - is it easy to disable them?

Is it just a case of NOT connecting a couple of wires?

Yep just don't wire them up or you could put a switch on the wire if you change your mind, save you getting the headlamps back out again

Sorry if this a silly question but what is that makes the turning light facility work? is it use of the indicators, in which case the turning facility will not always work as not all corners require indicators. Or am I being a bit dim(pardon the pun)?

Chris

Ignore this, have just looked at Advanced Factors ad and answered my own question!

There is a wire that goes to each indicator and it only works when the dip beam is on, so yes it only works at night time driving unlike a few seat Leon's I've seen where when you turn a corner they come on automatically. I6 WITH GAS CONVERSION
