...not the most exciting job or picture in the world, but thought that it was about time I got the Winter muck off the Engine etc...amazing how much crud collates in there.

For those worried about such a task, its a piece of cake, and nothing to be scared of.

Simply wrap all the electrical connectors in clingfilm, cover the starter motor over, spray with a de-greaser (I use Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner), agitate with a long handled radiator brush or similar, and rinse off with a hosepipe. DO NOT be tempted to use steam or a pressure washer, as it gets into places that it shouldn't.

Looks great, I did mine a few months ago and covered all the obvious electrical bits even though when I phoned up my land rover dealer and asked about washing the engine bay they said it wasn't necessary to take any precautions at all. Did it just to be on the safe side though.

When I wash my engine bay (on very rare occasions ):

- I take out the engine cover,
- I don't cover and/or protect any electrical connectors or alternator or starter or such.
- I don't use any cleaning agents.
- I always use power wash.

Quickly and efficiently.
Not a problem, ever.
All is designed to be water tolerant or proof.
