Goodbye & Thank you........and hello!

Well I've gone and sold my Freelander today, and am now in mourning Big Cry

Two years of ownership, and the first time this petrol head has really loved his car, but as stated in my post back in April, if I can't trust the reliability the car is no good for me. I certainly wouldn't dissuade anyone from getting a Freelander, and I very nearly bought a new one again, but with the new (ugly) shape coming out, I decided against it. I guess I was just unlucky and bought a Friday afternoon car.

I am waiting for my new car to be built, and I know already I won't love it like the Freelie, but it has a solid reputation for reliability if a little boring.

I would like to say a sincere thank you to this site and all the contributors who make it what it is. You are a fantastic resource for any FL2 owner, and a friendly place for a little light hearted banter. Thumbs Up

Absolutely CG - that is an ugly backside equally as bad if not worse than that proposed by LR on the DSport. Shocked

Doing my best behind the lines to pursued those that influence design matters to alter course on the Discovery Sport rear end but I'm not holding my breath.

Well Aero - you'll need goggles or more appropriately blinkers to fly with that one - whatever its fuselage colour Wink

I had one of those Hondas and quickly got rid of it even though it was new. Why? had no guts it could not even go up a not too steep a hill without having to drop down to 2nd gear. Sorry but have to say you can keep your Honda CR-V. Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

Each to there own I say, I did have a look at one of those but after seeing the inside plastic that are very easily scratched dented etc I choose the LF2. They do have a great rep on the engines tho and loads boot space.
Good luck with it mate hope it is everything your after. Smile Smile

Cheers Guys
Its not a patch on the FL2 looks, or off road ability, but its bigger, its new, its (hopefully)reliable, its built in the UK and more importantly its as much as I can afford !

Good luck with the Honda Aero, we've just changed our Honda - 210000 kms (130000 miles), never even needed a light bulb replacing.

+2 for the ugly stick.

Good luck with it though - its sometimes nice to have a change and whilst some will say its the worst thing on four wheels (I got the same insults having moved to an X3) its your choice and your money so who gives a flying Censored what anyone else thinks.

I'm loving the X3, 2 months old and 3500 miles of luxurious driving without a single issue - and the 'average' mpg never strays below the 40 mark even in urban driving, even got a 52mpg last week on a 130 mile round trip - saving me a fortune at the pumps compared to the FL2. I keep finding out new things as well such as being able to warm or cool the car via my i-phone before getting in it. (it can also be preset from the car to activate at a particular time) Thumbs Up Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Honey...I'm home !

I have been a really miserable git since I sold my Freelie in June and I knew I had made a mistake buying a new CRV within a mile of driving it away from the dealership.
Life is too short to be unhappy.
Bought my second Freelie yesterday and pick it up Saturday.
