Never ever trust an MOT mechanic, Why? A friend of mine took his volvo 245 for an MOT after his own mechanic had checked it ok for the test. After the test his car started having a knock so he took it back to the MOT test station and they diagnosed a said the drive chain was shot and needed a new prop back axle crown and pinion costing hundreds of pounds. My friend could not understand it so he got his own mechanic to have a look and guess what? The MOT station had loosened the 4 bolts on the from end of the prop joint. Look at the coin from the other side, how many MOT examiners have found a life threatening problem with a car and saved both the owners life and potential passengers and bystanders.

There's always going to be a rogue in a thousand whether its the plumber, the builder, the electrician, the gasman....
Lets look at the majority not the exception and get back on track with the matter at hand.

remember an mot test is only good for the time when it was taken. your car could be in theory a danger in the road half hour after having passed and it still has an mot certificate . the mot test in actual fact is a complete joke and only in place to keep employment levels down Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner
