2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Sumatra Black

Fire Extinguisher, where will I put it???

I presently have a 1 ltr fire extinguisher sitting in the left hand side "dip" in the boot. I was wondering if anyone had fixed a bracket to the car and if so how and where as I was thinking this could be a pretty deadly missile in a crash. Any thoughts much appreciated,

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Narvik Black

A small fire extinguisher like this will run for about 6 seconds tops,so would need to be a small fire to be any use.
We have in the past repaired a few cars that have had small electrical fires (dashboard etc)in the main electrical shorts,and we have never got rid of the smell of burnt plastics from them,and the owners trade them in and move on and the new owner complains of the smell too!!!
In short and as a personal thought,LET IT BURN and claim on the insurance!!!!
But I do agree the best place is in the boot,as sod a 1 kg of white powder around the cabin and in my lungs if I caught it with my foot!!!!!

I have to agree. Car on fire = run away, let it burn and cash in the insurance. It's not worth it.
