Oil for a Freelander2 Diesel

Hi All

I have some Comma Semi Synthetic 15w-40 motor oil (xT2000)

Am I able to put this in my 2008 Freelander 2 Diesel engine?

Thanks

Owners manual for a 2008 states:

Use only 5W-30 oil meeting Land Rover WSS-M2C913-B specification. Should be a 5W-30 ACEA A1 oil.

To my simple mind the answer therefore is No

Also a no from me, wrong viscosity and doesn't meet the Ford spec laid down for our engines.

That's what I was thinking - although I went to the BP garage and again had no idea which one was best. I might take a trip to motorserv in the morning unless anyone knows exactly which one is best?

Try putting WSS-M2C913-B into a search engine such as Google and it will list all the options.

Castrol Magnatec springs to mind as one but there are more.

Re: Oil for a Freelander2 Diesel

Willo,
As previously stated. 15w-40 far to thick of an oil to use. 5w-30 Ford spec, a better choice. Landy has now gone.

Bargain here. You'll need two of 'em but even with postage, that's a very good price. Thumbs Up

Site sponsor says they will beat any online price. I bet they can't beat the price I posted! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Might be able to beat delivery time though, as Asda now seems to be out of stock!

Definitely wasn't out of stock when I posted! Perhaps the site sponsor has bought the lot! Laughing Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
