Security risk

This weekend I parked my FL2. in a very up market road. Returning some time later to find it in unlocked mode. As we were discussing the fact I may not have locked it, it relocked. A few moments later it unlocked, at the same time as an automatic gate opposite opened.
As there was a continuous flow of vehicle's through these gates, it confirmed that each time they opened and closed so did my FL2. Sad
Regards Paul.

Must be on the same frequency not that uncommon i think. Did you try opening the gates with your fob ? Mr. Green

That happened to me... I had a BMW 3-series. I parked in a car park, blipped the remote to lock it, and another BMW a few yards away unlocked itself. I unlocked mine & his locked ???

In the end I moved the car. ...

I find this very unusual. The majority of electronic gate opening systems use a "rolling code" nowadays, to prevent conflict as reported above. In terms of the keyfob supplied with the car, I would hazard a guess that it would utilise this technology by default, seeing as nearly every car on the roads today are opened by remote.

Are you sure that there weren't some scammers parked up nearby grabbing transmitted codes? It's been known to happen with alarming regularity around these parts since our Border Control policy went out of the window. The devices can be procured online for less than 」20! Foraging near Gaydon....

We had the same issue but luckily it was under warranty so 2x new fobs and re-programmed solved the problem.

Couple of years ago I made a UHF (433 Mhz) remote control system to switch my rotary pigeon decoy from the hide when pigeon shooting. Once with all my gear packed in the FL2 I found I couldn't lock the vehicle. After much searching I found that something was pressing onto the Tx button causing a permanent transmit. Once this was sorted everything was OK. Don't know at what range this would affect the vehicles locking/unlocking (transmitter was obviously inside the FL2 when I had the problem) Lucky it wasn't the other scenario when I couldn't unlock the vehicle. I now keep the Transmitter module in the front with me. 11 GS Bali Blue

i have had the same issue with a battery operated driveway PIR detector for a alarm

it was transmitting and stopped me, the wife and the neighbour from getting in the cars, the continuous alarm going off gave me a clue, as nobody was near it, once turned off, the cars opened

I was also thinking as to the insurance implications. How would they view a claim that stated, returned to car, all contents missing, no damage to vehicle?

as a garage door and gate fitter i can confirm most doors and gate run on 433 mhz with a rolling code and a firewall system. The firewall is there so the control box knows that that remote is for that box, I.E when two doors are next to each other the right door opens with the right button.

If is messing around with your car maybe a reset on the alarm system is needed.
