I have caught the car detailing bug and wondered if anyone has used either of the above Meguiars products? I have an old Discovery 2 which I have turned into a project car for trying out new products before I use them on my daily driver. The paint is covered in swirl marks so decided to have a go myself rather than pay to have it done. I am intending to do the ultimate compound by hand has anyone else on here used that approach? |

I have used Ultimate Compound and think it is one of the best products on the market and it was recommended to me by a well respected bodyshop professional - BUT you will need to use a polishing machine to achieve the best results.

Many thanks for your advice-I think I will add a polishing machine to the shopping list. The Meguiars website suggests you can do it by hand but the salesman conceded it was hard work. I don't mind the hard work if it gives good results but I am a little sceptical I can achieve the desired result by hand. |
