Handsfree very quiet

I am suffering with a very quiet handsfree operation so that those ringing into the car, or that I have rung constantly ask me to speak up. They can hear me but it is quite feint. I have the same problem with both my blackberry and wifes iphone.

Is there anyway the microphone pick up can be turned up? Please help as I currently look like a total mentalist driving down the road shouting at the top of my voice. The nice weather is approaching fast and when I open the windows and sunroof people really are going to think I am crazy !!

the microphone is positioned to the grill, near the sunroof switch i believe, might it have been disturbed, might be worth a check

It could be that you have the volume on the handset to high, so it's fighting against the microphone on the handset. Why I haven't a clue, but that what I was told and it worked.
