keyfob default

Hello,

I come to you to know if you have an idea about the following default.

Both 2 remotes control car can not unlock the doors. We use two remotes and both stopped working at the same time so I know the problem is not keyfob.

To unlock the doors of the car, I have to be very close to the front window passenger side (remote pressed aboit 1 cm from the glass)

Do you have an idea ?

thank you in advance

Interference on the same radio frequency as the key fobs which has now stopped? Can sometimes, apparently, lead to the car not shutting down properly as well which flattens the battery. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

the remote uses 433mhz which is unlicenced so anybody can use it.
I fit garage doors and most of them use 433 handsets, what happenes is if 2 handset are pressed at the same time they interfere with each other and get a bad signal.
A bad point of 433 is that it can be hacked very easy the only thing protecting it is a firewall chip.
The Home Link system the American like to use to open up there garage door by using the buttons on the rear veiw mirror has no firewall at all and i would recommend never having it.
Same as the scene in gone in 60 seconds when the guys are outside some bodys house with the freuqency scanner.

Do your remotes do this all the time or just say like when your at home?

jlcrompton, no the remotes do this one time at home. Maybe cause of interference, central radio of LR has been with protection mode for a moment ?

It must be something in are around your house interfering, could even be something from next door. Even stuff like a micro wave can generate a frequency.
