Intermitant Starting Problems.....A possible answer? | |
Hi,
Been awhile since I posted, if the mods feel this is in the wrong section then please move it!
OK, Just coming up to a year of ownership of our MY10 Freely, generally very happy ( don't mention rear diff bearings though;-)
It has let us down on three occasions with an inexplicable flat battery when going to start it early mornings. I guess on average 3/365 aint bad, but not at half past silly time, usually in the pi55in' rain!
So, we have racked our brains as to why this happens, and have come to the answer, we think! On each of these occasions, for personal reasons, the sat nav has been preset for the next journey and left set.
Now when leaving the car overnight we always return the screen to the screensaver, then hit the red 'X' which turns the screen off, and since then no problems.
I know others have had this problem, discussions about the extra earth lead, battery to starter bolt is I'm sure a good idea ( we have one & it looks looks a factory-fit), but if any of you still have probs, turn that sat nav screen off !!!
Hope this helps Kola is the big solid black German Shepherd, Dobbie is.......a breed you've never heard of......yet;)
