This has bugged me for a while, had a good look and can't seem to find any parts online. Any help would be great. May have to be a small rust repair.

Same hole in mine but no rust.

They may be drain holes as I have three along the bottom of the rear door left, right and centre - but no rust

Leaky high level brake light? Could be water running down inside of tailgate and pooling near the drain hole.

Ive had my high level light out to change it for a facelift clear one and see that the seal on the new part is still the same dreadful design, its no wonder that they leak. I'm taking mine out to fully T cut clean and wax the tailgate steel and then I'm going to mask off the area around the lamp perimeter area and spray with Teroson body cavity wax, (sort of Waxoyl), before refitting the lamp and then going to spray in more wax over the open top edge of the lamp so it dribbles in and hopefully waterproofs the rubber sponge seal.

Re the rust, you need to remove the tailgate inner lining trim and get that sorted befor you end up with a big hole and a welding job. After removing the crust you need to kill the remainder rust with a Phosphoric acid based rust killer.

Funny enough I have a new brake light on order! Perfect timing, hopefully I can get the rust area sorted and fit the new light with a better seal at the same time. Would anyone suggest a good rust converter? Used a few in the past but wouldn't say I trusted a specific brand.

Should be a cheap enough fix...
