Just bumping this as I noticed the seller has dropped the price to £115 which is really cheap if you want to add USB or iPhone connectivity to your OE head unit..

I've had one fitted to mine and whilst I wouldn't say it's worth the >£300 dealer prices it is good value at £115. Can be fitted yourself if you're half-way handy, doesn't need coding.

A few questions: Where do the cables end up on yours? In the glove box I guess? Also does this give you the option of selecting tracks and controlling the ipod remotely?

Dan, I bet you could fit it It would take an auto sparky less than an hour.

By design, the cables end up in the glovebox although you could route them anywhere you want, maybe to the centre console by the handbrake or cubby box above the radio (unless you have satnav).

A harness plugs into the back of the radio which leads to a small box which has stereo phono inputs on it, for old school connections. There is also a USB cable, to plug an mp3-laden USB thumb drive in.
There is also a lead with an Apple 30 pin connector on the end, to connect an iPod or iPhone. So yes, Simon, it would work with an iPhone 4s.
Mine is connected to an Apple 30 pin to Lightning adaptor, plugged into my iPhone 5s.

Tracks from all inputs are controlled the same way - by the steering wheel controls. Volume is obvious, and combinations of the forward / backward buttons select tracks, albums, playlists. If you have the phone buttons you can shuffle the tracks with the red phone button.

The radio will NOT display the track names etc, you'll have to look at your iPod / iPhone for that.

It's not perfect but much better than plugging into the 3.5mm analogue audio input by the handbrake. I intend to eventually connect mine to an iPad mini for music and satnav combined, fed to the head unit. Just working out how to satisfactorily mount the iPad mini....

Thanks for that. I take it you use the genuine apple lightening to 30 pin adaptor? The copies are troublesome apparently?

Very tempted with this, but seeing as I don't collect the car until tomorrow I really should wait just in case!

Yeah, it's a genuine adaptor. Expensive but at least you know it'll work.

It would be sensible to wait until you have the car - the only thing I would say is that they don't come up on eBay often (there's two others on there at the moment at approx £300!!) - so it might be worth buying it anyway and selling it on if you don't use it?

Or get the dealer to throw one in....
