I suspect this is rhetorical as tbh it seems a bit of a no-brainer but...

I have a 2011 SD4 that's due it's second service - £450 give or take a few pennies at all the main dealers I've tried so far.

Stafford Land Rover are offering a "service plan" which covers the next two services and the MOT that will be due next year for £669.

£350 now and 8 payments of £39.

Bite their hand off?

Bite them both off, they might even ask you to give them "A Hand" with the servicing.

Have a word with Stratstones in Hanley.
Their service plan is very competitive. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Hi all,

taggarts have now offered me their service plan. While no commitment, the costs relate to an up to five year period, paying £32.22 a month. This covers all service costs, as well as MOT costs when relevant. It would also get me a 10% discount on any MOT parts and labour costs.

Wondered what people's thoughts were? Typically, i'd stop dealer service at 3 years anyway, and this scheme can be cancelled at any time.

I would not bother as you lose the ability to shop around. You will be amased at how much the price drops when you play them against each other. I've just enquired about a service plan for my new car
Originally I was offered £500 for 3yrs, then to be told it was for Evoke/Disco only.

My official first offer has been quoted at £1019 - which seems steep

Anyone else got any recent quotes for comparison?

Just bough a SD4 auto Dynamic My2013 ,12 months old . service plan was for next 3 services and 2 mot's £890 ... Got them down to £815 , 32 months interest free by DD . Hope the info helps.

probably could be good value in some respects, but it means you are stuck with the same dealer for servicing, and as can happen if you are not happy with them after a service, then you cannot go elsewhere.

but if you have a super dealer then may be ok ?

It hurts a bit when A Dealer can offer £499 for five years Service on the Evoque and £749 on the RRS with the Dealer quoting 1k for a Freelander for three years.
