Message display not updating

Hi all.
Got in the car today, and my clock was not updating, the mileage to empty wasn't working, and the computer would not scroll when using the button at the end of the stalk.
Done a search on here and can't find anything.
Any ideas?
Ta

It could just be a glitch. Try a reboot (disconnect battery for 5 mins).

Sorry for asking, but how do you reached the mileage to empty information if the stalk button wasn't working?

Am I right in thinking Alex that if the car is shut down with that displayed then next time you start it is automatically displayed without choosing through the stalk button. Exclamation

He then may have tried to get that back by using the stalk function.

Alex
It is set on that permanently. Comes straight on when I start the car.
Update, when I set off to come home, the LCD had some vertical lines on it, then after a couple of minutes they faded, and everything was ok again.
Very strange. I will post if it does it again.

Probably was a glitch as pab said.
The reboot idea wasn't bad either.
Taking into account my recent experiences with the cluster, I can say that, because the cluster remains powered all times, some initializations are done only on the initial battery connection and never later.
