You only get condensation if there is moisture around. I'd check for a leak. Ive not noticed this in my 2007 FL2 even after fording a river. Dont forget that there is a fuse box in the wheel well that is probably best kept dry! |

I always had condensation on my spare wheel, I put this down to wet bike gear in the boot. I never saw any leaks or signs of water running in but when I got rid of the car I did notice that I had some rust underneath the boot floor panel. If you don't put anything wet in the car I expect is more to do with atmospheric conditions, stick a moisture collecter in and see if that helps. |

The boot is vented to the outside, so it is not unusual to see condensation. My old did it and my new has on occasions as well. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

It's been really cold this weekend but just now its 21Degs. A lot of water was sitting on my spare wheel. Stupidly I wiped my finger around the whole rim then took a photo This is only the second time since having her that I've noticed the condensation so it's nothing major just a bit annoying.

Cold air in the spare wheel well meeting warmer air in the car, same as misty windows.

Has the rim ever been used on the car? especially in Winter? if its got slight traces of salt on it that will absorb moisture out of the air 10 times more easily and make it look like the wheel is sweating.

When mine was like this, it was because of water getting in through a failed seal around the high-level brake light. It's a common problem so you may want to check it out. 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

it could be attributed to some condensation on the alloy wheel during the cold winter months, but not in the summer.

If I see it OK, is there an inch of water in the bottom? Or it's only a reflection?

If leaks have been ruled out. Do you run the AC summer and winter.
