Boot keeps releasing??

Guys,

I have had this issue before on my previous FL2 but am having the same problem again, basically when I shut the boot it lock then I open the car and as soon as I put the ignition in the boot unlocks and my dash pesters me saying tailgate is open.

I had a breif look at the tailgate lock which appears to be an all in one unit with a relay could this be the issue and if so can you get a replacement unit or could this be a electric problem, the boot will lock when it decides too sometimes I have to get out and repush down on the tailgate and it will stay othertimes you can hear it try to unlock itself.

Any idea would be greatly appreciated as its now doing my nut in

well-known problem. Molst likely cause: water ingress / corrosion of contacts. The tailgate lock needs changing. As a temporary solution applied by me till the new lock arrived you can hit the lock button on the dash-board after getting into the car.

Same thing happened to swmbos, mentioned it to green oval (site sponsors) as it was in for rear diff and they changed it, about an hours job for them very reasonable price too. Thumbs Up

It's also easy for you to get to being from cas straight down M62 to jct 26 idea/showcase jct and it's on the roundabout.

Hi Guys
had the very same problem on mine. it worked fine if you used the key fob. It is a known fault and requires a new catch which is about £40 for a genuine part, pretty easy to fit (even for a girl Very Happy ) did mine two months a go and no probs since
