Mine needs a re-gas. I've got some quotes. There's a garage just round the corner from work quoting 35 quid, local Indy says 50, next works bonus I think I will get it done then leave it on and see if it affects mpg.

Last year I set the cruise control at 60 mph and drove 10 mile with it on and 10 mile off and ther was only 1mpg difference the road was as even as I could find it wasdoing 40 and 41 mpg,

I hardly have mine on in the winter, any estimates as to how much extra fuel it uses while the air con is on?

Never turn off the air-con. You wont notice any difference in mpg but your wallet could end up much lighter by many £000's if the seals dry up.
It's an old wives tale that air-con uses 5-10% more fuel.
Not with pwm controlled fans. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Just one problem - the aircon dries the air and it can set some people off coughing. I turn mine off when my wife is in the car, otherwise it soon gets her cough going. Good aircon in the LR though - the one I had once in a Cherokee was so fierce it set me off.

I've just run my car with my aircon on for a tank full of fuel. Like others have posted there was no real change in fuel consumption. I will now leave my aircon on all the time. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
