That's the dreaded clutch slip. High gears around the torque peak at 2K rpm - that's when you'll get it, not in the lower gears. |

I'm not going to argue with that! First thing to do is talk to Mike - you may find he can get a contribution to the cost from LR. FWIW my 09 has been doing this for the last few thousand miles (now at 32K), but only intermittently and from the sound of it not so bad (revs only jump around 4-500 rpm). It doesn't seem to be getting any worse, and doesn't impact at all on my daily driving (very little of which is on motorways), so for the moment I'm just living with it. If it gets to be a problem I'll sort it, of course, but for the moment I'm interested to see what happens - others have reported doing many thousands of miles like this, and even the problem going away after a time. None of which means the situation is acceptable - LR seem to have fitted a clutch which simply isn't up to the job, and don't seem prepared to fix it properly at their own expense! |

There are a lot of posts on this topic. Do a search and read up, so that you have plenty of ammunition. From what I have read this may be caused by the automatic adjuster mechanism, which can get full of dust and stick. Which would explain why it can seem to go away and then come back. It seems likely that it's NOT a clutch problem per se, more a problem with the adjustment mechanism and flywheel. The cure seems to be replacement of the lot (and do slave cylinder while you're about it). It's therefore NOT just a wear and tear item. |

I agree - it doesn't look like a problem with the clutch mechanism itself, and could very well be the adjuster mechanism or simply that the clutch spring isn't strong enough (another suggestion I've seen). The real problem is that working on the clutch is a gearbox out job, and that's a major task on the FL2. |

My experiences might be of interest see below especially the images at the end. Mine was due to a faulty pressure plate where it was scraping along the guide pins. Hence the intermittent nature of the problem.

the luk parts are genuine parts in a different box,the problem I have is getting an indie to fit my parts as they prefere to supply their own parts and make 25/30% on them.but I will get it done when it goes, although it is only slipping in 6th gear the pedal is starting to get heavy. |
