Chrome Mirror Caps

Those of you that have them, could you tell me if they are chromed plastic or actual metal parts. I'm thinking of getting a pair, but I was hoping to use a scrotch brite pad on them to make them satin.

Chromed plastic. And don't you dare to work on them with scotch pads. You will need a new pair of mirror caps thereafter.
Why don't you get the mirror caps in your car colour. They look marvelous. And do not forget to glue the
mirror caps with a special glas glue as scotch tape will not hold the caps at high speed.

I'll have to inquire at the dealer, but you can order them from the US or the UK here http://duckworthparts.co.uk/acatalog/Exteriors.html

If you find them locally please update.

Haven't found any place locally yet. I ordered mud flaps from the dealer at a good price that was in line with what i could find on the net. Going by the dealer on Friday so I'll inquire on price for painted caps and let you know.
