If anyone comes across any of the last remaining stocks of Euthymol toothpaste please would you be so kind as to buy them for me - your expenses and more will be fully taken care of. I'm very serious Exclamation

For those of you not familiar with this product which used to be available at all the major UK supermarkets as well as Boots, Surperdrug and Wilko. Here's a "mug" shot:

Please please help - my stock here in CH is down to only 3 unopened tubes of this wonderful unique product Big Cry

As for Johnson & Johnson (who years ago took over this small independent manufacturer) I will never forgive you for this act of corporate global vandalism. As from today all your products are banned from my homes forever and ever. Never will any of your massive portfolio of brands and their individual products ever cross the Athelstan doorstep. Never Evil or Very Mad

Ah memories! Just reading the name brings back the unusual smell, and recollections from 30+ years ago of my late father who always used that brand. Thumbs Up Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Gentlemen
Firstly many thanks for the swift response - very much appreciated.

Just checked those links and it does appear that there is some enormous profiteering going on here, unless of course that the price shown is incorrect. For example last year the normal price in Morrisons was £1.79 per 75ml tube, and Boots had a 3for 2 at £1.99 a tube.

I'll investigate those two online retailers in depth.

However if anyone comes across the "normal" pricing I am prepared to pay a premium on that. Thumbs Up

This may help...

https://www.facebook.com/euthymol

it does contain this quote:

For everyone who is concerned at the lack of Euthymol on the shelves right now, Johnson and Johnson have explained they are currently experiencing supply problems. They have said they are likely to have the product back on the shelves in early 2014.

From wikipedia: Johnson & Johnson Ltd, the makers of Euthymol, had temporarily stopped the supply of Euthymol toothpaste in mid-2012 while the product was reformulated due to changes in the European Cosmetics Regulation. The new formulation of Euthymol was released to supply chains in January 2014 and was available in stores in February 2014.

From the Johnson & Johnson website: Your search - euthymol - did not match any documents.
No pages were found containing "euthymol". Shocked

Yes J&J press releases are out there as I've just discovered from the Daily Telegraph report above.

But it won't be the same product despite what they may claim. How many times have we heard from the mega brewer when after taking over a local brewery they shut it down and then "transfer" the brand to one of there mega cheme plants to brew the pint. It never taste the same.

I need to hunt down the original and, from this day on until supplies are secured her indoors to whom I introduced Euthymol will now no longer have access to my Euthymol. She can go back to her own Swiss toothpaste Razz

No offence taken.
Indeed that mention of Steradent made me smile as I once knew of an unfortunate neighbour that in his late 30's who paid little attention to the health of his knashers ended up before his 40'th with a Steradent looking after his top and bottom set Surprised

For myself I am very happy to report that I have seldom contributed to the financial well being of the dentistry profession having needed to visit a dentist only four times since 1973. Prior to that one had in those days the NHS taking care of ones teeth throughout ones 26yrs of schooling and academic years Thumbs Up
