Recently paid £77.76 for oil inc vat at Matford Landrover Exeter as part of normal A service. (Castrol Magnatec A1 fully synthetic)

Saw on Amazon 4lt for £22 inc postage so huge saving on main dealer cost ie £33 against £77.76. How do they get away with it?????

On Amazon the RRP is shown as £40.19 so main dealer is charging 29% more than the RRP.

Am I missing something here before I go marching into the service manager to complain!!!

29% more than the RRP but 135% more than the price you pay on Amazon - hardly modest!!!!

By dealer standards, I meant, not modest by 'normal' standards!

Right, so if 29% is modest some dealers must be really ripping off their customers. I guess the answer is that some will shop around and compare the overall cost of a service but few will compare the cost of the consumables.

I will write to the service manager and put his response on the forum.

On the subject of oil price, I recently bought 2 x 4 litres of Castrol A1 oil from Eurocarparts costing £41.16 delivered.
