Parking charge notice

Just hoping someone has got experience on this. My daughter got a parking charge notice today from Excel parking 」60 but she did buy a ticket at the time, which she still has but when she was getting the ticket someone was in front of her who was having trouble with his money not sure but he just walk off then my daughter entered her reg into the machine plus the 」1.30 and returned it to her car, now on checking the ticket it looks like the person in front had part put in his reg then my daughter put in hers not realizing this so the ticket as part of one reg and the last 4 letters / number are from her car, now she has sent an e-mail explaining this with ticket number but it's a bit automated I think to make it difficult, anyway I've told her not to pay from what I've seen on watchdog and like. So as anyone had parking charge notice and not payed it.

Hi
Yes I had one from a similar company, Euro Car Parks. The guy actually stays on site and pounces at every opportunity. I was a few minutes in the shop so did my research and decided not to pay. I was sent 5 letters threatening me with court cases, debt/bailiffs and goodness knows what else but just didn't reply. Nothing came of it though. This was well over 3 years ago now.

I did hear that the law might be changing to include these private car parking fines but don't know if it has actually changed or not.

Unless it has been issued by the Police or a Local Authority, treat it as a private invoice and ignore it. If they continue to hound you, write to them once and once only, advising them that any further unsolicited communications from them will leave you no other option but to report them to the Police under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Guarantee that you will never hear a thing from them again. (Ps: Keep copies of any correspondence entered into) Foraging near Gaydon....

Just give them the Neeson treatment from Taken:

I don't know who you are I don't know what you want. If you are looking for parking ticket payment I can tell you I don't have the money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you leave me alone now that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you... and I will kill you! LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

As said unless it was issued from the police or the local council bin it and forget about it. They cannot enforce it. 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE

They can only "enforce" it if they take you to court and prove their case. The hassle is not worth it despite what their web site may say about always going to court.

I had a Parking Charge put on my car when visiting a customer site. It started at 」90 with a 」40 discount for early payment. After a final reminder I had a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd asking for 」150, then a Notice of Intended Litigation. The last thing I had was a Reduced Payment Offer asking for 」120. That was in April 2012 and I haven't heard anything since. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver
