United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Not a fair reflection bearing in mind 2006 includes the mk1 BMW up until 2010 when the facelift came out. Stick the FL1 in the equation and thinks might be different Whistle

You should have checked before saying that Smile

Believe it or not, the FL1 (03-06) still does better than the X3 (06-)!

Don't get me wrong, I genuinely hope you love the car and it's 100% reliable for you. It's just not for me.

FL2 is a LOT more reliable then the X3 you're moving on to according to the stats! If it's reliability you're changing for, good luck!

Interesting, with all the reports on here of Diff Bearings and Haldex issues, yet the rating is only 8% on the Axle and Suspension against nearly 26% on the BM, power plant isn't good either.

It's all to do with numbers, sell 500 cars, 1% failure is 5, sell 500,000 and 1% is, well you do the maths but you see it is all relative to sales!  MY2014 SD4 XS

I looked at the X3 before buying a Freelander. I rather liked it, but couldn't be tempted away from Land Rover.

If you look at the X3 forums (for the updated model) it looks like just as many people moaning about faults with their BMW as people do on here about problems with their Freelander. Steering rack failures within months from new and multiple replacements looks a hot topic...

However life's too short to worry too much, just have the car you want and enjoy it.
