wow what a car!

Well all you out there in the lr community!
Its been 6 months since we got our fl2 and not to put an hex on it she is fantastic!
I used to have a 5 bmw and she is easily as good with a lot more benefits.
I've taken a lot of stick over changing from a mit outlander but in all honesty I wish I'd done it sooner.
Rather than post with problems and questions I just thought I would praise a very good car!

We don't want snow do we?!?
I just had to say something, I've had so many negetive comments since I bought the car, but honetsly, in twenty years of driving I've never owned a car like it!

The day after I got my first Freelander we had the worst snow for years, it was fantastic and that was on Wranglers not winter tyres, ended up shopping for my neighbors as no one else could get up the hill of the estate. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

Had mine for 7 weeks now and am loving it Very Happy After 8 years with a Defender, it's great to have something with a lot more power and it's so much more comfortable for long journeys. Hoping for some snow too, to see if it can cope as well as the Defender always did.

England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

I too did the swap from BMW (530d estate) and haven't regretted it for a moment. Apart from the dreaded tailgate catch it's been a faultless and very enjoyable two years with Land Rover's smallest. Mind you, I still miss the bigger boot in the Beemer or the immense space in the LWB Shogun/Pajeros we had before that.

Folk at the LR dealership we got the car from (Carrs of Truro) reckon that the Freelander is the best car out there in snow. This is altogether the wrong part of the country to test that theory, thankfully!

Welcome to the fold. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne

I must admit, despite a few issues dealt with under warranty, I am still loving mine.
On Friday I drove from Sussex to Morecambe, then on Saturday I drove back. Round trip of 680 miles mostly at motorway speeds or maybe a bit more Wink .
The Freelie performed flawlessly, and made me appreciate just how competent the car is on longer trips.

Personally, no, we see enough of that up here in the Pennines as it is! But I know what he means - on tarmac the FL2 is a very good car, but it's only when you drive it on snow, or take it off road, that you begin to appreciate what it can really do. It's the breadth of it's capability which makes it so very good. It seems perfectly at home whether it's doing the school run, cruising down the motorway, ploughing through a foot of snow, negotiating a rocky track, crossing a muddy field, etc, etc. Very few cars offer that breadth of capability.

FL2 is a LOT more reliable then the X3 you're moving on to according to the stats! If it's reliability you're changing for, good luck!
