Autoglym Aqua Wax & Rubber.... | |
Folks,
As it has been a nice sunny day, and the car hasn't been washed since November 2013, I thought that I'd give it a quick rinse with the Karcher. Nothing unusual about that, granted, but having got 3 months worth of silt off it, I thought that I'd give it an interim squirt of Aqua Wax between now and its bi-annual major detail in the spring. I like to use Autoglym Aqua Wax for this type of job because you can put it on a wet car, and its very easy to buff up to a good shine with a Microfibre....it certainly works as an 'interim' cleaner.
Anyway, quite by accident as I was finishing the job, I noticed that one of my LR Rubber Mats had some mud on it, despite having hosed them down earlier. I used my now damp Microfibre (a culmination of water and AG product), which was just about to be dumped in the washing machine, and to my considerable surprise, it dried on the mat inside of 10 seconds, leaving a matt sheen on the mat and making it look as new as the day that I received it from Duckworths! I was that delighted that I did all 4 rubber mats, the rubber door seals, the side-steps, and just about every other bit of rubber I could find. No need to apply product...simply use the cloth that you have been using...there will be enough residual product on it to do the lot!
So there you have it.....an unexpected discovery for all you cleaning fanatics out there! Foraging near Gaydon....
