Phew... I was starting to think that the rear diff needed an overhaul.

They replaced the mechanism and brake shoes. I only paid for the shoes as it was done under warranty so I can't tell you how much it will cost. Andyfr |

yes its a common problem with the handbrake shoes sticking on ive done mine twice,ive put copper grease on the part that seizes up this time(expander link).also had rear strut go on me caused a noise every now and then like going over rumble strips,oil seal had gone noticed leg was wet with oil. |

Its just the expanders that sieze up.wonder if this part could be heated up and dipped/quenched in old engine oil ,think its called oil blackening /tempering/annealing? to stop it rusting?any thoughts on this? |

+1 to that I have had the same problem with mine since buying it in December, it even did it on the test drive but the dealer said they could not find anything wrong with it so I guess I know what I'm doing now on Saturday. ![]() |
