Very nice sir! I always shunned the idea of a RRS because of the running costs. However, I am now in France - no road tax, cheaper diesel, CT (MOT) only every other year.....hmmmmmm....get ye behind me Satan! John

Hi there, back in 2004/5 I paid a visit to the local LR dealer just to have a look at the then "new" D3 . Last month 10 years later I bought a 2009 D3 and some would say I was compulsive. Last month I did however buy my daughter a 09 plate XS Freely. Did intend to buy myself a FL 2 but SWMBO whilst cruising through Autotrader, "very nice red D3 here, have a look dear" 110,000 miles, 1 owner FSH, cam belts just done and yes we bought it and it is the very best car we have ever owned and I get to drive the daughters FL2 as and when. So best of both worlds.

Yes, I really wanted the sport to look natural, I didn't want tinted windows etc. Expense is hard to tell so far as I really haven't done much more than work and back and that is returning about 25mpg (basically what I expected). Having the TDV8 I always new it was going to be high running cost, the tax alone is £490!! The V6 3.0L is more economical with lower tax and the HP isn't much less. |

I borrowed a RRS 13 plate for a few weeks and I couldn't go back to my FR2.
