United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

Its just saying that upgrading the performance COULD affect other systems in the car, and if those systems fail as a result of the upgrade then it won't be covered by warranty.

A nice, general, catch-all statement to leave as much room for manoeuvre on warranty claims as possible.

Nothing new, in my opinion - but, as the Doc says, worth a post for the uninitiated.

The jury would find you not guilty Nick. As far as I can see you haven't dishonestly appropriated property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive Rolling with laughter LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Perhaps the author of the memo is American then or just made a spelling error. Either way, the point is worthy of mention and worth bearing in mind.

A good heads up post Thumbs Up

Could be that the author used an Apple. Apple computers generally decide what you are going to say and how you are going to spell it! Laughing

I have already aired my views on remapping an FL2 but I genuinely hope nobody who has remapped has to put this statement to 'the test'.

I had two remapped cars fail due to turbo failure. my warranty was with Warranty Direct , as they were extended warranties. In neither case would they pay up as it was considered 'fair wear and tear'. The question of modifications never came up at all.

However it just seems to me that it will be a JLR get out if there is an engine failure or maybe any drivetrain issue.

I guess we will have to see what stance is taken by JLR if one of the forums remapped cars develops a fault?

Nothing to with the actual warranty but general reliability etc.

Sorry, but to me that just reads like an "advertorial" for Superchips! Hardly an unbiased report.
