Karcher K4/Snow Foam

Thinking of picking up a Karcher K4 over the weekend not long now till the Freely arrives Thumbs Up Does anyone have this specific model Question If so any feedback will be great. Will be ordering a 1L snow foam lance bottle online as well. Ive never used snow foam before, I have looked at the videos online but not really found one which shows the correct steps to take. Just plenty shwoing it being applied to a car Laughing Am I correct in thinking that if the car is caked in dry mud. Is it best to apply snow foam direct and letting it work in for five minutes rather than jet washing dry muck away first? Then you can jet wash the whole car down. You can repeat this process again and now used a mitt. Is it wise to dip the mitt in a bucket of water to clean it and just use the clean snow foam that is on the car ? Whistle Just dont want to end up marking the new paint and not sure the correct method used for snow foam Embarassed MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I have just got a Karcher K4 to upgrade my 10 year old other Karcher pressure washer.

But its too early for me to give feedback as it still sat in its box! Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Santorini Black called "Olly" my name is Mike!

Not sure on the Karcher model, i had a KB6060, but the plastic parts cracked twice, and i switched to Nilfisk as they have brass or aluminium pumps

i assume your meaning a pro snow foam lance and not a karcher one? unless they have a proper one nowadays theres was terrible

For normal road grime, i snow foam without jet washing, a dry car will aid it clinging

1" in the bottle, add 2/3rds hot water, and adjust the +/- wheel to desired thickness of foam

Leave it to dwell for as long as you can, 5 - 20mins normal

Whilst dwelling i normally jet the wheels down and clean them, better than sitting around

if caked in mud, i would jet off first, You can then jet off the foam after its dwelled as normal

you can respray the car with foam, but you still want to use a mitt and a couple of buckets, one for shampoo and one to keep rinsing the mitt before a dip in the shampoo again

Thanks for that buddy Thumbs Up yes sorry it's a universal snow foam bottle! This is all new to me as never touched the stuff before. There is not many helpful videos on YouTube either! Didn't think it would be need to be left on for 20 minutes but like you said you could clean wheels and have a cuppa Laughing MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

If it's the yellow non adjustable Snowfoamed bottle I doubt it will stay on 5 mins

Much better investing in a Autobright snow foam lance or similar

Finally picked up a Karcher K4 at lunch time today. Comes with a 6m hose but noticed you can have a 12m hose Very Happy That way can leave the machine in the garage without taking it out and getting it wet with the spary and saves having to trail electrical cables everywhere. Question is will I lose any pressure as I have doubled the hose length? MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Thinking of upgrading to the Karcher K5 does anyone have one? Or should I just stick with the K4 Whistle

Had a Karcher for donkies years when finally it broke, replaced with another Karcher which broke after just two years, re-laced with a very cheap Aldi/Lidl (cannot remember which) which was just as good and lasted longer, when that finally gave up I replaced it with a Nilfisk......seems a lot more powerful (same rating more or less) and attachments work well.

Got through a lot of power washers because of the pool we had for over 30 years so was at least three or four times a year cleaning an awful lot of paving and patio area, cleaning the car was a sideline for it Laughing

Best snow foam I have found is Autobrite Magifoam Thumbs Up Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......
