Tried various, methods over the years ash works very well,but for really stubborn heavy duty cleaning

Just for interest, are those that have to clean their glass, have either single glaze glass or have one of the cheaper far east imports my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

its all down to flue and fuel and usage.. a mate of mine has the same stove as me and its always cleaner than clean,

If you want to get out of cleaning it at all DO A REALY BAD JOB OF IT WORSE THAN WHEN YOU STARTED then the misses will say this is how you do it ,
