2011 Freelander 2 TD4 s- Loss of power

Hi

I have a 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 S (Automatic) and a few months back noticed that when the the engine was warm and it was a hot day the car would lag when moving from stationary position at junctions and roundabouts.

The car is still under warranty and it was taken back to the dealer to check for problems. They tested and potentiometer+ compressor+ alternator+ high pressure pump+EGR, MAF and butterfly valve were tested, however, the problem is still there. The lack of power occurs at lower revs when the Engine revs not exceed the 1000 TR/min. The frequency of the problem increases once the external temperature is high. So on hot days it is more acute.

The dealer recently replaced the fuel injectors and performance slightly improved, but the problem is still there when for instance turning the steering wheel tightly and moving off from standstill. There is a few seconds of no response before the car moves slowly off.

The problem is even worse when the Air-conditioner is turned on. When the car is moving of a stop sign with the Air-con on there is no response even with the pedal to the floor. As soon as the air con is switched off the car responds.

I am taking it back to the dealer but would appreciate any feedback so I can tell the dealer here in Morocco as they do not seem to know what the issue is.

Many thanks

Even if it doesn't address your car from the manufacture year point of view, it could be a follow up of this problem.

Thanks for the feedback. Over a month back the dealer did say that they updated the software. But I will check again with them to see if this is what they had done.

Hello Mofaz

A question is I may, I am planning a long trip to Morocco later this year with my 2008 se td4 and I was wondering how the LR dealers are in Maroc and what are parts availability like? My main concern is wind screen replacement any feed back would be most helpful.
