Grinding noise when turning corners........

Ok...when turning left or right from stationary at an intersection I get a grinding noise from the rear of the car either on the left or right (depending on turn direction).

I thought it could be because of the 4 wheel drive and a normal sound as the wheels engage in different directions ie. front wheels driving through the turn but the rear wheels driving against the turn.

At speed the sound isn't there, it is primarily when setting off from stationary around a corner.

Does anyone else get this..... Question

PS. Starting issue saga now over....all I have had to contend with is a flat tyre and knackered indicator stalk. Still loving the truck.........but the wife is slightly fraught Twisted Evil . Freelander 2 TD4 HSE

When you say "flat" this is like very flat or just a bit deflated like say 2.0 instead of 2.2 like recomended by LR? FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

Mine's not from the gearbox either, but from the front. I was just pointing you to the other thread about similar noises when turning.

HI,
I had this with my freelander - it got to the point where it squeaked really loud whenever turning left. I took in into service and they replaced something (can't remember what it was off the top of my head) and it has been fine ever since..
