Avon & Somerset Constabulary

Nice to see them using a half-decent vehicle, as opposed to Devon & Cornwall who are BMW obsessed....

Was the BBC not banging on about 4x4 drivers thinking their vehicles were amphibious? I see a gap in the market here! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

I live in Devon and Cornwall and their BMW obsession is a little embarrassing Embarassed I've even seen them driving Kias now

Free range cops.

Both Dorsetshire (I know, I know, but that has a nice ring to it) fuzz and the PSNI (NornIrn) use Freelies. I think it is quite remarkable that Landrover have managed to capture such sales - even though only numerically a handful of cars. It takes some effort to establish a sound fleet reliability and quality record - forces use BMWs for good reasons. After years of poor reliability records and iffy build quality, and horrendous running costs for Discos it is great to see that the merits of the Freely2 are now being recognised. And officers can simply go further in poor road onditions than they could if driving lesser vehicles. It would be a bit disappointing if cops could not get to where they are needed because of a triffling deep puddle. or a light snowfall

Bedfordshire paramedics have at least one Freelander - it was down our road the other day but too far off without going outside to have a closer look and being a bit obvious. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Avon and Somerset have a reputation for trying other vehicles. When I was involved in motorcycle training (years ago) the motorcycle section had a couple of rotary engined Norton P52's. They went like !!! but the tips of the rotors wore badly and wouldn't get past the green lobby now as they used 2 stroke oil.

Not much use to them now as the company went into liquidation.

Good job (or not depending upon your personal views) as HM the Queen took a ride on one whilst visiting Liverpool several months before the sinking.
