The North West Stages Rally, 7th and 8th Feburary Blackpool

For members "Up North" interested in tarmac car rallying you should get yourselves to The North West Stages Rally.

More details the website but salient details to "wet your appetite" are 6 very quick World Rally Cars and best of all "The Armed Forces Rally Team" using 5 Landrover Wolf 90's.

Action stats late Friday afternoon and is probably best seen at the "Trax" Kart track adjacent to Preston docks or on the Blackpool lower promenade.
Saturday action takes place again at the above venues plus Fleetwood promenade and Fleetwood docks.

More info here http://www.nwstages.co.uk/

I will be officiating as "Safety Radio" car in my Black FL2 SE at the start of the Trax stage in Preston on the Saturday so if see me stop to say hello.

ccsnet, this is right on your doorstep.

I'll be knocking about the Riponian Stages Bill. the Rally HQ is only 20 miles way from down at Thirsk, so i hope to have a good day in the woods with the Camera. looks as though they have enough entries to make it viable for this year Thumbs Up

toenee,

Hope you had a good day out. The weather was kind to us up till about 15.00 hrs. then a very heavy downpour but it cleared within 15 minutes.
The worst bit was the wind which blew down the stage signs and even knocked over 2 Portaloo's.

Still stage over and got away in daylight leaving the younger members of WMC to clear up.

Cheers, Bill. Life Honorary Member of Wallasey Motor Club.

Blurred shots of Rally cars is par for the course. We all did a fair amount of 'deleting' as we went along.
Shutter speed of 1/160 sec or so at WRC works cars belting along a bumpy forest track does require an element of luck to get a sharp shot.
A notoriously difficult subject to photograph.
Bill Turner mentioned that the car number should be easily visible in the shot.
Never gave it a thought Big Cry Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Hi Tony,

Loved your shot of car 100. They finished 3rd. overall and 1st in class.

We will have to get you down into Wales for some further action. Plains Rally is in Hafren and Dovey forests on Saturday 17th.
Will post more details when available.
