Ok, I know it's 1980's cheesy, but I'm thinking of fitting 4 spot lights on my roof. Like Marty McFly's pickup in Back to the Future.

It was actually the G4 which gave me the idea. I love how that one looks, although I don't think my Mrs would let me paint ours orange. Any idea where one can buy a roof rack like that?

Unfortunately not. I seem to recall the question being asked in the past, and I think the answer was to the effect that the G4 racks are not available and no one seemed to know of suitable alternatives. Which isn't to say there aren't any. But you're right - the G4 looks pretty good, even if losing some of the subtlety of the FL2 |

You could just buy a Discovery instead - even available in orange! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

I had 4 roof fights on a defender back in the day. They weren't really that good to be honest, admittedly they were cheapo ring ones, but they just didn't throw the light as well as you think they would. Also will realistically knock 2 to 3 mpg off economy.

How did you sort the power torssell? Any pics of the cabling? I really like the look of that, specially for the winter months, I suppose with the right connections this could be plugged in and out easily.

Scott I believe Mantec were commissioned to design and build the FL2 G4 roof load rack and rear ladder steps. Contact Mantec, they may still have some stock or, will make one up for you |

Trade the Mrs in, paint the car orange you know it makes sense. I have been told that the G4 roof rack stops you from opening the sun roof, that's why my Mrs had a fit when I suggested it, that and the fact that I had just bought and fitted roof rails from the dealership. Still waiting for a genuine G4 roof rack to turn up at a price that I can afford, they come up on eBay from time to time usually around £400. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner |
