Stalling and Backfiring

Hi All,

I have an Auto HST Freelander 2 on a 2009 plate and recently I have had a few problems with the car.

Sometimes we have trouble starting it, doesn't happen very often, but when it does it can take up to 5 times to get it started. It has stalled a couple of times in the last 6 weeks as well but the main problem would be when you are driving it, it is starting to almost like backfire. This can be at 10/20mph or 60/70mph and the car would just pull back. When travelling at lower speeds this is when the car seems to stall and at higher speeds is when I Censored myself.

Not sure if they are all related and I have a friend who can hook it up to a diagnostics machine but just thought I would ask the question on here first.

It has had the battery checked which is 100% fine and a new starter motor on about 5 months ago

Any help would be great

Craig

Dirty/clogged fuel filter has been know to cause similar problems.

Thanks Wizking

That sounds like a garage job to me, not sure I trust myself with the fuel filter.

Any idea on how much it costs to replace one - or would it just need cleaning?

No idea of cost but pretty sure it will be changed.
